JASS & ALLIE WORKSHOP
11th Oct 2026
Penrith Parish ROOMs
We’re delighted to have guest teachers Jass and Allie from Glasgow Lindyhoppers and Glasgow Jitterbugs offering a day of progressive Lindy Hop classes, from fundamental level up to intermediate +
Jass and Allie run Glasgow Lindyhoppers, where they both started their swing dance journey – and now are proud to be leading the community. They teach weekly classes across all levels, from beginners to advanced workshops. You’ll also find them regularly teaching intermediate/advanced Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, and Solo Jazz (including improvisation and classic strolls) with Glasgow Jitterbugs. They are passionate about helping dancers grow – whether at home or further afield. Their classes are known for being fun and informal, with a strong focus on musicality, technique, and individual expression. Jass emphasises body mechanics and precision in his teaching, while Allie likes to encourage dancers to work closely with the music and seek authentic partnership connections on the dance floor.

Class Descriptions
Beginner/Improver (10am -12:15pm)
The first hour will use basic moves to explore how connection and posture can improve our dancing. The second hour will be looking at swingouts (starting with the basics so still suitable if you have little or no experience with them).
Suitable for anyone comfortable with 6 and 8 count basic footwork
Improver/Intermediate (1pm -3:15pm)
The first hour will be looking at connection and the second hour will be focusing more on musicality. You should be comfortable using moves such as pass by, swingouts and circles for this class.
Suitable for anyone who currently attends our improver/intermediate lessons. To attend this you should be comfortable with the basic Lindy Hop moves and have started experimenting with variations and musicality
Intermediate plus (3:30pm 4:30pm)
This class should offer a challenge to dancers who are happy to learn at a faster pace and try more advanced combinations of moves than we currently offer in weekly classes
This is aimed at dancers who are comfortable in our improver/intermediate classes and feel ready for a challenge. You should be comfortable dancing at different tempos and explore more challenging variations and musicality
